Welcome to our exciting architecture project in Hoeilaart, where we had the pleasure of discovering a magnificent antique-style* villa during our first visit.

*The antique style exudes a timeless charm, characterized by its grandeur and elegance, reminiscent of classic designs from the past. Antique architecture often draws inspiration from historical periods such as the Victorian, Baroque, or Renaissance eras. It features intricate detailing, ornate moldings, rich colors, and opulent textures, creating a sense of luxury and sophistication.

Within this splendid villa, we found an abundance of captivating elements such as stunning wallpapers, intricate moldings, enchanting light fixtures, and an array of dark furniture, which all contribute to the allure of the antique style. These elements represent the quintessential features of antique architecture, celebrating the beauty of craftsmanship and the nostalgia of bygone eras.

Our clients had a vision of rejuvenating the living room, dining room, and veranda while preserving some cherished classic elements from their existing decor. To achieve this, we delicately blended the desired new style with the original features of the house, ensuring a seamless integration without creating any architectural shift.

In contrast to the antique style, the desired modern** style embodies simplicity, clean lines, and a focus on functionality.

** Modern architecture is characterized by its minimalistic approach, uncluttered spaces, and the use of contemporary materials such as glass, steel, and concrete. It embraces a sense of openness and natural light, creating a refreshing and spacious atmosphere.

This comprehensive project encompassed a complete makeover of the downstairs living area, comprising a dining room, veranda, living room, and an office. As part of the transformation, we meticulously reconsidered the general layout and ergonomics, thoughtfully selecting materials, and creating an inviting ambiance with the right choice of lighting.

Embracing a modern touch, we curated tailored furniture for the office corner and TV area, elevating both functionality and aesthetics. The modern style brings a sense of simplicity and sophistication, allowing the space to feel uncluttered and effortlessly stylish.

To pay homage to the villa’s antique heritage, we also revamped existing furniture, such as the vitrine in the dining room, blending the classic and modern styles seamlessly. By doing so, we were able to create a unique space that harmoniously combines the best of both worlds.

Incorporating a harmonious blend of paint and wallpaper, we added depth and personality to the spaces. The original parquet flooring was lovingly preserved and renewed, while tiles were thoughtfully added to the dining area, striking a perfect balance between tradition and contemporary design.

One of the showstoppers of this project is the double-sided fireplace, a true statement piece, which we wholeheartedly embraced and artfully integrated into the new design. The modern style allowed us to create a focal point that adds both warmth and sophistication to the space.
